Referred to by residents as the “Autobahn of Detroit,”, I-696 is a major east-west freeway in the metropolitan area that carries massive traffic volumes in both directions between I-275 & I-94.
Nine bridge structures over I-696 within Macomb County are receiving much-needed repairs. Features of the project include deck replacement and widening, substructure patching, concrete surface coating, deep concrete overlay, joint replacement, back wall repair, railing replacement, slope paving repair, approach work, traffic signal installations, and maintaining traffic from east of the Mound Road interchange to west of the Roseville city limits.
As a Prime Consultant, TYME provided Full Construction Engineering services including: project engineering and contract administration; construction inspection; materials testing; and project close-out.

This major inlay project received an award from the Michigan Concrete Association (MCA) in 2017, in the category of Divided Highways – Urban.
As a Prime Consultant for the MDOT Taylor TSC, TYME provided as-needed construction engineering, administration, inspection, and materials testing services. The project spanned 7.25 miles across Wayne and Oakland counties, covering I-275 (from the I-96/I-696/M-5 interchange south to 5 Mile Road) and I-696 (from the interchange east to Telegraph Road). Scope items included extensive road resurfacing, bridge rehabilitation, and ITS infrastructure installation. The high-level urban project earned an award from the Michigan Concrete Association.
